Palmilla Golf Course
For those looking to golf in Cabo, a great option is the Palmilla golf course in San Jose del Cabo, part of the One & Only Palmilla Resort. Located only 25 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas and only 15 minutes from the SJD Los Cabos International Airport, this Jack Nicklaus designed Cabo golf course mixes the Mexican desert and mountain terrain with expansive views of the Sea of Cortez to earn its number 11 spot on Golf Digest’s “Best Golf Resorts in North America.”

The 27-hole, 72-par course in Mexico is made up of three 9-hole courses. The original two, Mountain Course (3,602 yards) and Arroyo Course (3,337 yards), were designed by Nicklaus in 1993 and the third, the Ocean Course (3,527 yards), was designed by Nicklaus in 1999.
Green fees at Palmilla run from around $60 to $180 (U.S dollars) depending on the season and time. Tee times from 11am to close tend to be less expensive than those from 7am – 11:50am. The fees include golf cart, bottled water, use of the practice range and yardage book. The golf season is year-round. Before booking your trip, you should call ahead to reserve a tee time and get the golf prices for those dates (+52.624.144.5250). Those not playing the courses have the option of using the practice range for a $20 fee (plus taxes).
Don’t want to bother with the hassle of bringing your own clubs? Club Rentals are available at Palmilla for $50 (plus taxes). They offer men’s clubs, women’s clubs, and even left-handed clubs.
Private instruction is also available with pro and manager Jason Ballog. Half hour ($60) and hour lessons ($120) are available.
