What are your favorite Activities/Interests?
Spending time with my family is one of my favorite things to do. I have made a career out of participating in pageants although I also really enjoy planning weddings and other events so hopefully will be able to work as an event planner!
Why Mexico?
Growing up all of our family vacations were held in different Mexico destinations and I always had such an incredible time. There was always more than enough activities to do combined with family and the beach – Mexico holds some of my favorite memories.
Experience modeling?
I have been modeling since I was 15 years old. I started in print ads for Dillards and some other smaller clothing stores. However most of my experience is in commercials for companies such as T-mobile, Wine vineyards and lots of spas. One of my favorite modeling experiences was as the NYC international modeling convention – out of 5,000 models I finished 3rd in runway and 4th in print. Also, I absolutely love pageants and have participated and placed in many over the years.
Why modeling?
I was dyslexic growing up and therefore never really loved school. I was bad at sports as well so modeling really helped build my confidence since I could not grow in the other areas most kids do. Pageants and modeling are always fun & a great way to meet people so it forced me to step outside my comfort zone and has made me the outgoing person I am today.
When I think of Mexico, I think of…
My family obviously! Since all of our vacations were there. All of my other thoughts stem from those memories like beautiful beaches with blue water & white sand, laying out & getting tan – Mexico tans are the best tans! Umbrellas in tropical drinks, the sun, parasailing, jet skiing and just a lot of FUN! Mexico is always an amazing time.
What do you think about the travel warnings in Mexico and all of the controversy occurring with tourism?
I look at it as any other travel destination – just use common sense. Mexico is as safe as anywhere else and I have never felt unsafe there. I compare it to my time traveling in Europe – I never put myself in a bad situation because I used common sense and for that reason I am always safe.
Why do you think other people should visit Mexico?
Mexico just has so much to offer. It is really easy to fly to from America and the opportunities and activities are endless. It’s affordable and always an incredible time with great memories.
What type of charity are you interested in supporting?
Animal Lovers of Mexico Association (ALMA)
Why did you choose this charity?
I have what you might call a rescuing problem. Ever since I was a little girl an animal could literally not cross my path with out taking it home. I’ve had to relocate many of them but managed to keep 5 dogs & 4 cats.
Animal Lovers of Mexico Association
ALMA (Animal Lovers of Mexico Assoc.) is a non-profit Mexican corporation with the main mission is to support the well being of domestic animals of the Los Barilles area. Through private contributions (we receive no govt. funding) we are able to provide spay/neuter, vaccines, and veterinary services for animals of families who qualify for our assistance.
