9th Annual Dorado Shoot Out

This event will take place on July 20, 2013 at the Van Wormer Resorts in Los Barriles. This is the largest fishing tournament in Southern Baja with an average turnout of 130 teams each year. What makes this event so popular is the low entry fee along with a big pay out. This year’s entry free is $400 per team and the winning team will walk away with a brand new, fully loaded, 2013 4×4 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. The tournament also offers optional side jackpots of $200, $300, $500 and $1,000. Last years jackpots reached over $60,000 in cash. 

The rules are simple, catch the heaviest dorado on July 20, 2013 and you win the truck. There will also be great prizes for 2nd and 3rd place as well as for the largest tuna and largest wahoo caught that day. The beauty of this one day tournament format is that anyone can win. All it takes is a little luck and you can walk away with a brand new truck. After the tournament, Palmas De Cortez will host the award ceremony which is unlike any in Baja. Dinner, Music and over $20,000 in raffle items will be given away.
